Reminds me of a story of me and my Step-Dad many years ago..... He had a `56 Ford wrecker with a 292, 4-Barrel, headers and 4:88's. He tuned it late one night and said let's go for a ride! We went over to the shopping center parking lot across from the garage. He got out and said, "Here, you take it for a ride!" I was 14 years old! I scooted over, adjusted the seat, pushed in the clutch and put it in 2nd. He said roll it out and then hammer it. I did just what he said! I would it up to about six grand and power shifted into 3rd and the same with 4th. We were somewhere around 100mph.... and the car wash at the end of the end of the shopping center was coming up fast!He was still in shock (maybe proud) from me powershifting and not missing a gear, then looks at the car wash and then back to me and calmly says.... "Um, the brakes aren't really that good to stop six thousand pounds of wrecker too quick! You better start slowing down or we're going though the car wash!" Luckily I got it slowed enough to turn away a few feet before the entrance! That's one ride neither one of us will ever forget! He reminded me of that story many times after that!
