A Torino body on a '66 Ford chassis. Hand-me-down from Holman-Moody. Car was about worn out when Wendell got it. A grinding, flipping crash at Trenton, NJ really finished the job, but Wendell kept right on racing it. Every corner of the chassis was bent, and none of the wheels were even close to the desired location, but Wendell kept right on racing. Engines were about in the same shape. Wendell, and this car finished 16th at Martinsville, using the engine from his son's street car (after the 'race' engine blew up backing off the trailer).Talk about being 'brave in life' and for the sake and love of auto racing.........I don't know of anybody in Wendell's league.

I don't beleive anyone was in his league. Never had someone done so much with so little. There's no telling what he might have done with a legitimate big time ride.
