A slice of Americana. To the left of Elizabeth Taylor is her husband and soon the be senator from Virginia, John Warner. This is victory lane of the 1977 World 600.
The Charlotte Observer quoted Liz as being hot-tired and thirsty and tired of having to smile all day. Taylor quenched her thirst with whiskey over ice.
The race was not much of one as Richard torched the field for his second World 600 victory.
