Monk was one of drag racing's true characters. He was a club owner, drag racing enthusiast and pioneered some lasting drag race marques. Among them Eastern Drag News, Super/Stock & Drag Illustrated Magazine and the legendary Super Stock Nationals events.

And he was fearless enough to contunue my relationship with the S/S Nats events for their first seven years.
