What a mystery ol' JD Stacy was. Sponsored cars with his last name, "The 5 Racers", Stacy-Pak, etc. - NONE of which the regular race fan could remotely understand. I don't have a clue - and pretty sure he didn't either - what return he could possibly hope to get from his team ownership and sponsorship.

He was a strange character. To me he was in over his head both times he entered Winston Cup Grand National Racing. And in both trips he had short stays of course Rod Osterlund, MC Anderson and Warren Hodgdon were others in late 70's and early 80's that were in and out very quickly in racing.
