Is that Riverside 1980 for the King's car?

It's either that or the one in 1981 ran in January. The last race for the full size cars.

pretty sure its gotta be 1980. In the Jan 81 Riverside race, Richard & Kyle swapped car #s for that one race. I've got a pic of KP driving the 43 with a blue helmet and "Oil Treatment" on the rear quarter. This pic looks like the driver has a silver helmet which is what Richard used a good bit & it doesn't have the Oil Treatment on the sides. Either way, very cool pic. Thanks for sharing it.

That is right, I forgot about that. Wasn't it the reason they swapped is because Richard wanted to make sure Kyle got in the race or was is something else?

The 43 car was already on the 1981 winners circle bonus money plan from his wins in 1980. Richard was hoping to win the race in 42 to get that car on the 1981 bonus plan as well. Bill France was none too amused & told them to switch back. He went back to 43 for the next race - the Daytona 500 - and went on to win it for the 7th time.
