This was my 1st time to see GN/Cup drivers in person. My folks took me to see 420 qualifying and then watch the local late model guys race. Didn't get to go to the 420 itself. Took me another 2 years to see my first GN/Cup race at Nashville. Neil Bonnett qualified Bobby's car because Allison was still recovering from injuries suffered in a late model wreck in Minnesota.
