In the early 80s we'd take our two young daughters to the Nashville races. They loved the little amusement park at the fairgrounds and a visit to Opryland was also mandatory. We'd always eat at Whisperin' Bill Anderson's original Po Boys restaurant. Then they'd stay close to mom at the Wrangler van in the infield and play with the other kids. Great memories and great racing. I'll never forget taking the winners trophy back on the plane from Nashville to Greensboro after dale beat darrell on his home track in Bud Moore's "shoebox" T-bird. It was HOT that night. Never seen Dale so soaked.
