Interestingly, the Lincoln Star included only wire service reports for the NASCAR race. In early July, however, the paper ran ads, a preview article, and locally-covered race report for the 8th running of the 4th of July IMCA open wheel "big car" race. Sounds like the promoter did little to no promotion for the GN race. If so, that may explain why Big Bill was one and done with the fairgrounds track.
