This was team car to Donnie Allison's Digard Chevy. The #08 of Johnny Rutherford finished 27th w/ a blown engine and Donnie finished 28th w/fuel pump problems. Spence Chevy in Daytona Beach can be seen on the back of the car.

Tom, According to my records there was no # 08 run at Daytona in 1979. There was a # 08 Chevy driven by John Anderson in 79 at Charlotte and at Atlanta.. Johnny Rutherford drove a # 08 at Daytona but that was in 1975. From the dress of the folks in the pits it looks warm and sunny. The weather at Daytona in 79 was cool and overcast. They ran the first 13-15 laps under caution because of the weather. If it was 79 I guess you got the see big fight. lol...

There is also no #08 shown for the 78.79 or 80 Firecracker 400 in Daytona, I'll keep looking.

Thanks for the help Bill. I had it with some 1979 pictures and wasn't sure what year. I'm sure it was at Daytona as I lived there at the time and attended a lot of the races. Pretty sure it's a old Digard car judging from the color scheme. Donnie Allison race the same paint scheme for some of the races that he drove for Digard. Could be a earlier year.
