Like yourself, I spent many years in the Northeast. I'm embarrassed to be here because I ignored the Modifieds racing was available. Lime Rock was much closer than Stafford Springs, plus it had name drivers. At that time, the sports cars closely resembled real cars as opposed to 40s Fords or chopped up Pintos. So road racing is what I grew up on (and Wide World of Sports).Grand National stopped running at Trenton just about the time I got my act together and could have made it there, and for some reason I never went to see them at Pocono. When The King was about to retire I realized that I had never seen a Grand National race although I'd been following it since the Sixties. I HAD to see Richard and my parents were living near Utica at the time, so I combined the two.I've raced sports cars on several Sprint Cup tracks but Watkins Glen 1991 remains as the only spectated event. I'm in North Carolina now, but have been without a job for a long time so I haven't done anything here. Charlotte, Martinsville and Bowman-Gray are on the top of my list. Still prefer the freedom to move and the different views available that you get in the infield of a road course rather than locked to a bleacher seat in the sun.
