Didn't understand why this car didn't catch on. Great lines for the time, must have been something that prevented more Pontiacs from showing up at the tracks.

This was the Chris Vallo owned car for DavidPearson. Wonder what ever become of Vallo? Anyone know?

I had read an article a long time ago, that they had used an IBM computor to determine which carline to use. The computor chose Pontiac.

And here's Pearson in an STP sponsored #17 Pontiac at Texas World Speedway in 1971. Possibly same car but with different colors. Hard to believe Pearson was sponsored by STP before Petty - and even before Freddy Lorenzen. Of course, its also hard to believe Richard Petty was the 'official' car owner for the Wood Brothers-winning #21 at Daytona this year! I think I found this photo in one of Ray Lamm's albums.
