Elkin Speedway
Elkin Speedway, actually located in Jonesville, NC, was the site of a NASCAR double-header modified event in October, 1948, NASCAR's inaugural season. The former 1/2 mile speedway is now the site of the Lila Swaim Park. Looking closely, the former grandstands are still visible.
