Shown at Metrolina Speedway in Charlotte, NC. This car was owned by Henry Gordon with his sons. For a short time Mertolina was converted from dirt to asphault.

Hi Gary, About that time WBTV3 and channel 9 sponsered the cars of Henry Gordon and Tom Pistone. It was short lived sponsership, but it made for some added competition for the TV companies and spiked interest among the fans in the Charlotte area. Chuck Piazza

My brother still has a WSOC Mustang Stick Elliott Tee-shirt stashed away.I've seen a picture of WBTV on one of the Dodge kit cars with Earnhardt driving. Those TV stations today don't even know short track racing exists.I miss Metrolina and the old Concord track a lot.

Hi Gary, Right you are! There was just something about the racing of that era that seems hard to recapture today. But years from now they will be saying the same thing about todays tracks and drivers. Chuck Piazza
I well remember that car!
