More Petty News

This morning, I was watching the Speed Report, Nascar Victory Lane, and the Wind Tunnel. I honestly can't remember which said it, but sometime this week, Richard Petty Motorsports will shut down and file for bankruptcy. But....they willimmediately reopen as Petty Enterprises!

Bringing back that name will mean a whole lot to alot of people

I, for one, will be happy to see that. ALL race teams need to get away from perceived "big money" sources who are only there to bleed as much as they can from the sport............in this case, Gillette, but there are others, as well. The Petty cars did very well at Homestead and are obviously competitive. Those team members are doing a good job, and it will be refreshing & rekindle many pleasant memories to see the rebirth of Petty Enterprises. The NASCAR hierchy has certainly shot itself in the foot numerous times with so many ill-advised decisions, but a major objective should be to keep the con men out of the sport. That would certainly be a step in the right direction and possibly put them back on the road to regaining some lost credibility & integrity. It just occurred to me that those sure do sound like noble thoughts, but it might be asking too much of the current "in charge" group.

That is exactly what I expected to happen but I did not anticipate going back to the name Petty Enterprises. That is awesome!!! It will be great to see the Petty Enterprises name out there again and it may be that such a change will bring about much to cheer.Tim

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.
