Ok, folks, let's discuss tracks. What is your favorite all time race track, whether still in operation or not, and why. You don't have to have attended a race there, maybe just watched on tv, but give us a favorite and the reason why.

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.

My favorite track was New Asheville Speedway. It brakes my heart every timeI drive by and see that the City of Asheville turned it into a volleyball court. That little track did not have a straight away and the corners were real tight. It made for some great races and memories.

This a tough question. Really. I'vevery muchliked a half dozen, or so, through the years. I guess my favorite would have to be Dayton Speedway, Dayton, Ohio. It was a high banked asphalt half mile oval that humbled many a driver. Every type of race car in existence ran there at one time or another. Unfortunately, it is now buried under a landfill....

Bristol before the concrete and progressive banking. The racing was always great at Bristol. I use to love to go down to the entrance of the turns and watch the cars enter the turns. The drivers with no neck had a definite advantage.

I do not know if you are talking Speedways or Dirt Tracks...so I will give you both.

Rockingham NC ...infield is low so that the 1st row is as good as the top row. Drivers track as the tires only lasted 7-8 laps (abrasive like Darlington)then it was slick and that made for good racing.

Columbia SC and the wood wall that circled the entire track. It was awesome and when they paved it... just as awesome. Drivers track and those are the best tracks.

I'd have to say North Wilkesboro. I didn't get to see the track until after it was closed but was a part of the effort to get it re-opened. And it paid off because they're racing there once again even though they may never see another NASCAR race again, it's back being used for its intended purpsoe. racing.
