It was given under false pretenses by the person who sent it claiming it was for his son. If you look at the picture of the card and the description of it, the picture doesn't show Sam or his car. It's a picture from 1963 showing Junior Johnson's car and some others lined up before a race.

I wonder if this falls into the realm of consumer fraud to where the Feds would get involved as it is probably being sold across state lines?

I got a message from Sam Ard's nurse and good friend Jan about a low life who wants to profit off of Sam's medical condition:

Recently Jo had Sam sign some cards for a man who had mailed them to her stating that he only wanted it for his son's collection. Jo even sent him a patchl. This man paid her absolutely nothing. Now he has shown his appreciation by listing it for 25.00 or best offer on E-bay. Sam is not even in the photo. Because ...of this fraud Jo has requested that no signatures will be given except through me.

I'mtrying to get a name of the seller so I can report him to E-Bay. All of us are very aware of Sam's condition and genuinely feel for him. But for somebody to resort to something like this to make a fast buck off of Sam's name and condition really shows how low some people will sink.

I'd have to say North Wilkesboro. I didn't get to see the track until after it was closed but was a part of the effort to get it re-opened. And it paid off because they're racing there once again even though they may never see another NASCAR race again, it's back being used for its intended purpsoe. racing.

Sad seeing it happen but with the world moving away from newspapers and magazines to the internet, it's eventually going to get to the point where there's little if any paper newspapers, magazines, or books left. Eventually the move to the internet will affect TV too. ALMS broadcast their races on the internet. We're seeing bits and pieces of it happening with NASCAR. Eventually folks will hook up their computers to their TV's instead of using cable, sattellite, or theopen airwaves to get their shows. Streaming media is on the upswing right now and there doesn't seem to be anything to slow it down except maybe bandwidth.

Jo & Sam Ard Need Some Assistance

I heard from a friend of the Ard's and they need some help with some home repairs (a hole in the roof) and their appliances (washer, dryer, stove) are on their last legs. If anyone can lend them a hand they'd be very appreciative.

My wife has a problem with the balance test also due to a medical problem. She's been advised by a doctor to insist on blowing up a balloon or a BAT.

Dale Jr resigning with Hendrick???

Based on what Jr himself said, he would race the #3 car for Childress before he retired, so that means he'll finish his career with RCR, even if it's for just one race.The other thing that goes along with the crew changes at Hendrick is that both Jr and Jeff Gordon were put on notice that if they didn't improve next season they'd best start looking for a ride elsewhere. Hendrick can use the non-performance clause in their contracts to dump them, no questions asked. So even with a contract extension or new contract, Hendrick has the option to still dump Jr if he doesn't improve next season.
