I can remember racing against one of these at Bowman Gray in the early 50s

Back then I was fairly fast at running. 10.3 100 yard dash, but it handled real well in BG's flat corners.

He didn't move over for Curtis Turner and was knocked into the Field House.

Big Bill drove a Willys a few of those races, not sure about whether it was at the BG or not. It seems he ran one at the old High Point Speedway in 41 though .

Since those things were rated at 63 horsepower stock, on foot would be my guess too, unless it had a transplanted mill.
