New Contender for Cup

I know a lot of you thought that Tony Stewart may not have that great of a shot to win the Cup, or even be in contention. Well, after that run on Monday, I think that clearly puts him in contention for the title. He won the race and is ranked 2nd in points. Everything that happened before the point of the chase, doesn't matter. It's only about now and the races to come, it's a new start for Stewart. Now is his time to shine, and I think he can win the title. If he puts on solid runs like he did this past race, he very well can. What do you think? Can he?

Moritz.

Yes, Tony can win and he may just pull off the Jimmie Johnson Chase Magic this year. If I were betting, however, I would go with Jeff Gordon.

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.

I am quite confident Jimmie will win the Chase this year again. #48 can maximize the ten race 'mini season' better than anyone else. And for someone like that, getting those ten races right is a lot easier than getting thirty six races right just because the odds of something bad happening being far greater with more races. Heck, just having to deal with one instead of four plate races on your way to the championship makes it so much easier.

Is this a Chase rant? You bet. Thirty six race season where less than a third of it actually counts for the championship will never seem right to me.
