IS NASCAR GOING F-1 CRAZY?
ALLOWING RACE TEAMS TO VOTE ON PITTING AND RACING WITH 3 OR 4 LUGNUTS PER RACE CAR WHEEL.
HOW ABOUT ONE BIG MIDDLE F-1 LUGNUT PER RACE CAR WHEEL?
NO PIT OFFICIALS, JUST NASCAR CAMERAS ONLY IN IT PIT LANE.
NEXT THINGS WILL BE BANNED: NO HAND PUMPED JACK, NO AIR WRENCHES,NO GAS CATCH CAN,AND NO GASMAN!
HOW ABOUT NO DRIVERS, PIT CREWMEN, NO RACE CAR OWNERS?
HOW ABOUT FULL SCALE REMOTE CONTROLLED GASOLINE RACE CARS?

Thanks for any information or photos posted.

On one hand, I appreciate the challenge of screwing on five small lugnuts instead of a big easy central one like most racing series but on the other hand, the risks of those lugnuts shooting off like bullets has always worried me a bit and now with no lugnut rule, even more so.

When I first read the press release on these new rules (or lack of rules) I thought perhaps the guys in Daytona were confusing Christmas season with April Fool. Apparently not. Wonder how many drivers are going to accept having less than five lugs on the wheel? As for cameras to monitor pit stops, I see an awful lot of "wiggle room" for NASCAR to manipulate a race by misreading what the camera appears to indicate.

Tracks removing seats, NASCAR cutting the number of officials at the track, and fewer lug nuts required. Is the sport in trouble? Oh well, what else is to be said?

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.

This would be like the NFL reviewing every play for a penalty. Racing was once a great sport. Now it is just a sorry excuse to grab advertising dollars.
