I'm sure all of the Jeff Gordon fans would just as soon Jeff hadn't momentarily thought he was in the NBA instead of NASCAR.

Maybe Jeff should use that in Victory Lane for his signature race winner move...can't be no worse that Kurt Bush's backwards victory lap....juvenile.

Ya know, Jim... last night I watched the old football movie Knute Rockne - All American. Not one single place in that movie did the Gipper, the Four Horsemen, or any other athlete spike the ball, pretend to be Superman opening his shirt, make a fake cell phone call, turn a flip or anything else after a score, except place the football on the ground or hand it to an official. Personally all this smoking the tires, turning flips, climbing the fencecrap after a win is extremely juvenile to me. Maybe in the old days drivers would have celebrated like that, too, if they didn't worry where they'd get a motor if they blew up the one they just won with. I guess I'm a crabby old man and not the yippie, hippie, generation X or whatever demographic NASCAR and its Lucky Dog rules are supposed to appeal to these days. Will just have to get by on my memories., I guess.

I have nothing against celebratory burnouts as they're damn exciting to watch but some of the new stuff that's evolved beyond that are childish and plain silly.

Having been a huge Lombardi fan, I have often made the same comment Jim. Wonder how many of today's race fans know that Winkie Louise, Miss Firebird, married the Super Bowl winning Packers' famous pulling guard Jerry Kramer, one of Lombardi's all-time favorites?

Darned, Jim... next thing you know you'll be wanting me to believe DW's engine didn't just blow up all by itself when Junior's winning car passed the finish line at CMS in the inaugural running of The Winston! Surely you don't believe ole spic& span Darrell would've shoved in the clutch??!!!!

I see your point Jim but I guess the team sees it as a 'reward' for the driver maybe? We sometimes hear the winning crew chief actually tell the driver to 'burn it down' with donuts after a win.

Agreed on Austin's faceplant being the stupidest of them all. One of these days he's going to land on his jewels and he'll quit doing it.

Haha, I'll be thinking of you cringing the next time I hear permission for burning it down being granted over the radio. :)

I'm sure if I tried that, I would break SOMETHING and it wouldn't be the dance!!! I admire anyone who can move like that. Lord knows I can't anymore.

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.
