NASCAR team owner Jack Roush suffered minor cuts on his head in a plane crash Tuesday evening at Whitman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisc.

Roush was flying his private jet, a Beechcraft Premier 1A from Detroit. The jet made hard contact on landing and cracked the fuselage.

Brenda Strickland, a friend of Roush's, also was on board the plane. NASCAR journalist Bob Margolis, who is writing a book about Roush's life, was told that Roush and Strickland were not seriously hurt.

"Jack got out and had blood some blood on his face," Margolis said. "Apparently he bumped his head. They both were taken to a local hospital for observation, but I've been told they are OK."

Roush, an experienced pilot, suffered serious injuries in a plane crash near Talladega, Ala., in 2002. He was flying his P-51 aircraft when it crashed into a lake. Roush was unconscious and would have drowned, but he was pulled from the water by Larry Hicks, a retired marine who lived nearby and saw the crash.

Roush was in Oshkosh for EAA AirVenture, an annual air show.

You are correct an ultralight not a P51.

Just a point of reference about Jack Roush's crash in 2002. it was near Troy, in southeast Alabama, some 150 miles from Talladega. When Jack was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2006 (same class as Dale Earnhardt), Larry Hicks was Jack's special guest that evening.

Moral of the story: Do NOT fly with Jack. But, come to think of it, one of his drivers did send another driver flying at Atlanta in the spring. Seriously, I am thankful it came out that well after the crash.

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.

Oh, one other note here. Wayne Andrews, a member of Racers Reunion, was at the air show as well.

I read it on Nascar.com, it said he walked away, but will most likely need surgery.
