Here's a breath of fresh air........Bobby Dale Earnhardt, yup that's his name, the oldest grandchild of Dale, Sr. wants to be a race driver. The 23 year old, with an unmistakable resemblance to big Dale, has chosen to take the path of his famous grandfather. Currently, Bobby Dale is a cook at Rockingham, NC's Kentucky Fried Chicken, his home town. and is trying to establish a driving career, by the sweat of his brow.

He's politely declined all help from his well-heeled family and is honing his skills by racing dirt-track lawn mowers. Bobby Dale says he's heard all the stories about Dale, Sr. working "hard for everything he got....." and wants to do the same. The younger Earnhardt has a ride for Daytona's ARCA race and recently practiced at the speedway. Observers indicated he had no "pre-conceptions of greatness" and closely listened to all instructions, went out and was 50th on the speed chart of all 58 ARCA cars. This particular goal was not speed, just familiarity.

A throwback to the old days...go Bobby Dale!

What a change! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I'm quite surprised. It may take me awhile to figure it our but first look it's really great.

Never heard of him...like his attitude and hope he makes something of it! Maybe he can get KFC to sponsor like Dale Jr. did a few years ago. Just hope he don't turn out like Stroker Ace and have to wear a chicken suit! lol

Nicholas, that would be great! I'm referring to the "Racing Through History" radio program, here, on Racers Reunion Radio on Tuesday nights. We normally have a call-in guest and to have Bobby Dale would be awesome.

Hello Bobby Dale..I hope with all my heart your dream comes true..they do if you believe! Your Granddad is smiling down on you with that devilish grin and he will be in your shadows throughout your career. Because that is what the man did..he laid the paths to many dreams, anyone believing would see he did not intimidate he rather set examples of compassion and determination. I have a friend that is trying to live his dream..and he will but as you know taking the path you have chosen it is a hard road to travel and the sacrifices are great. Good men make them but some need help to make it happen. My friend is on my profile as is his Vintage 36 Chevy that he painstakenly restored himself and had a great opening season 2010. He races with his soul and has strong family history in NYS. his late father Peter Corey known as a legend. Money is a big factor in racing these days..I grew up having to help my dad take the fuel out of the stockcar on the trailer and put it in the truck so we could make it home a few times, but those were the days when you just did what you had to do to run your ride and pray to Heaven you made it to the next event. And we did, every race! I have been trying to find out how to find sponsorship for my friend so that he can also make his dreams his legacy. If you could send any suggestions to finding local sponsors I would be in your debt! Best of luck with your dream and remember everyday is a memory made for your friends, children and famiy. Thank you, Linda
