To the fans who cheered when Johnson hit the wall. GROW UP!! Regardless if you like Johnson or not, it is pathetic to cheer for him to hit the wall like that. He is lucky he was able to walk away from that with no injuries or worse. Most of the time I am critical of NASCAR but this time I want to thank the good people at NASCAR for mandatory HANs devices, full face helmets and safety barriers. In the wake of the fatal Wheldon crash I think we are all once again reminded about the risks drivers take everytime they strap into racing a car. The risk of injury and death is always there. It is just sick for someone to cheer for crashes like that. Its not the right time to do that.
Sure, feel free to boo or cheer your drivers in driver introductions but when another human being is in a bad wreck show some respect. The only time you should cheer is when the driver gets out of the car alright. These kinds of fans annoy me. I can remember there was a driver at one of my local tracks who used to dominate. He hits the wall really hard. Fans all cheer. Well I hope they all felt like crud because after that he broke his wrist and retired.
Lets all remember that these are human beings just like you and me. They all have families, friends and lives like everyone else. How dare people cheer for them to get into crashes.
