Nina Cox, the widow of famed car builder Marion Cox is all smiles as she races to congratulate driver Marvin Panch after winning the 1965 Permatex 300 at Daytona. Also seen in the picture are Chris Economacki and Dan Gurney.
Is Marion the guy that would never race on Sunday ?
Yes....In fact, the race was won Saturday and he loaded the car, stopped by the payoff window and he and his family headed to Hemingway, S. C. so they could attend church services Sunday morning.....Probably the most respected family ever in racing.
