Michael Waltrip is in his fourth year behind the wheel of the
#30 Pennzoil Pontiac and in his ninth season in NASCAR racing. Waltrip is coming off one of his best years in Winston Cup competition, having collected a career high in winnings and finishing fifth among all drivers in most laps completed. In the busch Grand National Division, Waltrip drove the
#30 Pennzoil Pontiac to two victories and three other top 10 finishes. He has registered seven BGN wins in six years. Michael, the younger brother of three-time Winston Cup champion Darrell Waltrip, hails from Owensboro, Kentucky, but now makes his home on the shores of Lake Norman near the Bahari headquarters in Mooresville, North Carolina.
