Gil Hearne had a hand in launching the Alabama Gang. It was Gil who first traveled through the Alabama, Tennessee area, saw some nice race tracks and returned to FL to tell his racing buddies the Allisons & Red Farmer, who then took their cars and started runnning the Alabama tracks. Donnie would eventually drive for Kenny Andrews, the Allisons and Farmer settled in Alabama and the rest is history, Gil would move further north to NJ where he carved his on legacy in modified racing.
