The race was rained out a second time and then rescheduled for the end of the season. Petty's pole-win was tossed, and the teams did a qualifying do-over. Bobby Allison won the pole when the teams returned in November. Tim Leeming posted about this race here: http://stockcar.racersreunion.com/forum/topics/1981311:Topic:865725 Petty is credited with 127 poles, but Racing-Reference shows only 123. The King won the pole at Martinsville in 1970, but the race was rained out. Between the time of the original date and the rescheduled one, Petty had his bad accident and missed Martinsville. With a DNS, that may explain one of the missing poles. http://stockcar.racersreunion.com/forum/topics/racing-history-minut... I'm curious if this voided top spot at 1967 Asheville-Weaverville may be another. I don't know about the other two discrepancies.
