It was the weirdest thing I had seen in my seven years of living. OOh how I miss cup racing at the fair grounds.

And, yes the Po Folks car was a weekly competitor in the late models. Saturday night was race night for our family at the fairgrounds for a long time after cup left. Thanks for jostling loose some memories.

Just listened to the race on MRN's throwback Thursday. They played a interview from earlier in the weekend. Petty mentions that Andy had reached out to him at the 71 finale in Texas. Then they basically played phone tag for the rest of the off season. Hope this helps.
