Ray, I caught the very end when Junior Johnson served up some "shine" for him and reporter. Last I heard was the female reporter saying "ooohhhh" and that was the end of the interview. There will never be another Junior Johnson.Pete

Tommie and Marilynn's pictures are some of the best I've ever seen. They have such a home touch to them yet are professional quality. Nice and clear!! I've told Tommie how I feel about this rare look at history and appreciate the sharing with us.Pete

Thanks Bobby. I remember hearing it in High School but I couldn't recall the singer. I'll have to try and find it and listen again.Pete

Wasn't there a song written about Roy a long time ago? I was wondering if Ronnie had something to do with that.Pete

Significant milestone for RacersRunion

I'll second that, Tommy. Not only is there a great history in pictures about NASCAR, but Jeff has allowed us to have clubs for our local hero's as well. No other site can touch Racers Reunion! This is a must for any race fan! Thanks Jeff.Pete

This goes back to almost the beginning of the auto idustry, but how about Ford vs. Winton in Michigan, 1902.

Joe, I think Bill Simpson was huge in improving driver safety. For years, t-shirts were the garb and that wasn't good in a fire. I think Bill started his safety stuff in drag racing, but I'm not sure. I remember seeing Simpson drag chutes in the early 60's.Pete
