But if you aren't careful with your consumption of green beer today, Means has you covered tomorrow morning as well. |

Learned through multiple tweets today that John Potts has passed away. John was a member here at RacersReunion though he didn't post frequently. He was very helpful to me in providing photos and some additional info regarding my blog post about Lee Petty's win at Corbin Speedway in Kentucky - the only GN/Cup race held in the bluegrass state until Kentucky Speedway was added to the Cup schedule.

I didn't know John personally. But based on the bit I've read today, some are familiar with him from his days as an ASA flagman - especially at Winchester Speedway. Hopefully others here knew him and will have more to add.
Here is John's RR member page:

Another Pi Day race was the 1976 Southeastern 400 at Bristol won by Cale Yarborough. 1976 was the first of a two-year experiment of reducing Bristol's races to 400 laps. Both races were restored to 500 laps in 1978 - the same year lights were added for the summer race.
Woody Delbridge has shared some nice photos from the March 1976 weekend.
