The Petty Caprice of 1979-80

Stock Car Racing History

Very awesome post, thank you.

I never thought about it but what happened to all the old chassis and bodies once NASCAR moved to the downsized cars? I'm guessing they were handed down to some lower series but which?

IN THE YEAR 2014

Current NASCAR

Hard to narrow it down to just one. Lot of excitement this year. But I'll go with Watkins Glen. Hell of a finish between The Dinger and Ambrose.

Bah, Humbug Bruton Smith; NC Supreme Court Delivers Christmas Eve Bag of Coal

Current NASCAR

I hope he gets Fedex to ship the track to wherever he wants to take it so it gets delivered in a new shape and structure, preferably something like Iowa or Richmond with a lot of bumps for good measure.

Playing in the middle of Daytona

Current NASCAR

The manufacturer ties don't really matter when you're racing in a different series these days. Penske runs Chevies in Indycar and Fords in NASCAR, for example. And last year, Kurt drove a Honda powered Indycar for Andretti despite being a Chevy driver in NASCAR.

Brian Vickers

General

This is not the first time Brian has had this issue (blood clot last time out too when he had to sit out for a long period, if I'm not mistaken) and now that this is a recurrence, his sponsor might be having second thoughts. He hasn't run all that good either. Not as good as we all thought he would after that fairy tale Loudon win in 2013 after fighting his first battle with the clots. To be fair, neither has Bowyer. Anyway, hope he is able to come back stronger.

Waltrip probably for Daytona but after that, I'd like to see some young up-n-comer get a shot but can't think of any Toyota development drivers at the moment that might get the nod.

Millionaire Bopper? Where's Felix?

General

I didn't know it's from May. I too would like a statement from him. Watching that video just makes you sad thinking how half the world was misguided by a cancer like communism.

December 18, 1988: An Australian Shepherd takes top prize

Stock Car Racing History

It's a shame nothing eventually came of it but some cool moments in the sport's history for sure. The track is still standing today albeit severely beat up as you would expect. Here's a video of a V8 Supercar going around it at speed last year. Just hear that splitter getting whipped.

Sprint will be out. Who will be next?

Current NASCAR

Someone on another forum said he heard from some media members that Coca Cola is lined up for 2017. That'll harken back to the Winston days somewhat. Another product that's represented by red and highly profitable in all economic conditions.
