Video of the Famed Dale Earnhardt / Robert Gee Wrangler Pontiac Ventura LMS
Stock Car Racing History
Well I have the race on DVD, and I promise it's not nearly as expensive as the car LOL!

Have fun WATCHING the Falcons in the playoffs.
I believe they used a special-use Jericho transmission, designed specifically for the road courses. Not sure when they were first used, but estimating in 1984-1986.
I should also point out Brad poor mouthed the decision to change the top-35 rule next year when it was announced. Considering he was part owner of Ronald Cooper's entry in the Busch Series back in the late 80s-early 90s, I would have thought he'd have a MUCH more educated position on the rule. I hear that Paul Page is out of a job at ESPN- give me him for Nicole Briscoe, and get rid of Brad on the prerace show, and you might have something!
I at least found some shots of Bobby and Davey's cars:
Dave,
Racing-Reference lists Bobby's car as being #28 Coors Pontiac, but no owner listed.
Bobby Allison 1981 Laguna Seca
It also lists Dale as the #72 Wrangler Pontiac, but they show Rod Osterlund as the car owner.
Can't help with the pics just yet, but that was the first thing I found.
I just realized Ricky is holding Dale's helmet in this pic (see the Magnum on the side of it?)
I have the race on video- IIRC, this happened during the caution that Dale Jarrett broke his ankle in a crash with Gene Glover (Tony's dad.) The Jarrett crash is on Youtube, but strangely nobody has posted this footage as of yet. Maybe I'll change that one day
I forget who it was that did this (I heard it on Sirius Nascar radio), but it was at a short track that Bodine was racing at. Supposedly in the driver's meeting, someone asked what the fine was for punching another driver. The race stewards were caught off guard by the question, but they told the particular driver it was $100. Once the driver's meeting was over, the guy that asked the question moments before went up to Bodine, punched him in the nose, then went right to the steward and paid $200, and added that the overage was for later, just in case.
