Hamlin & Newman Correct / Fines Suck

Current NASCAR

I just saw this on nascar.com. I can't believe this.....it's like what we said on "Racing The Way it Was" the other night, nascar is scared and they're making fools of them selves right now.Just for the heck of it, lets make a video of some of us talkin about nascar and send it to Brian France. lol-Cody

Edwards should get more than this

General

Ok......get mad at me if you want.....but I really don't think neither of them should have gotten fined. I like Carl, but that's not the point. Earlier this year Nascar said "have at it..." so I say, when does "Have at it" go too far? They were just racing. Sure Carl purposely took Brad out....but think of it this way: You're coming off turn 4 for the win and let someone else win? No, I'm gonna fight for it. Second, think back to the 1992 race at Charlotte, Kyle Petty dumped Davey Allison coming to the checkered flag, Nascar didn't penalize him or fine him did they? They were just going for the win like Saturday Night.Alright, I've stirred the pot too much.-Cody

the number "3" in victory lane---------- AGAIN

Current NASCAR

Maybe because Earnhardt had lots of fans from over 25+ of racing. Fireball hadn't been racing that long and only won (I dont know) but maybe 20 or so races. So Earnhardt had a huge fan base and won lots of races. Robbie Solesbee said:
Bobby, my sentiments exactly. As for marketing, it seems Sr. is worth more dead than alive. It's been almost 10 years. The man is dead, he's not coming back, and I wish the marketing vultures would let the man rst in peace. Nothing makes me more sick that folks trying to earn a buck off a dead man. This was not a tribute-it was another way to make money on diecasts, T-shirts, caps, and whatever else they make in China. Like I said Dale, Sr. dead-for almost 10 years. It's time to get over it and move on. Nobody mourned Fireball, Little Joe, Friday and the 20 some odd others to die in a GN car, or Cup if you insist.

Bobby Williamson said:
Wow. the "3" car in a Nationwide/Daytona victory lane...........what an original idea, what promotional genius! N-CAR has about out-hyped this whole deal.

the number "3" in victory lane---------- AGAIN

Current NASCAR

Yeah I would like to see it again. Like I said this morning, almost everytime he's drove the 3, he's won. 2 Busch championships. 2 Busch races in 2002, and Friday. But...I can understand the pressure of driving the car. Everyone thinks he's supposed to be as good as Sr. He's not. He's good, but not his dad. Look at Kyle Petty, not as good as Richard. Dale Jarrett didn't win as many races and cups as Ned.....

the number "3" in victory lane---------- AGAIN

Current NASCAR

Some people say it was "fixed" because every time he's drove 3, hes won. But even if it was, I think it was something special to see the 3 back in victory lane and Dale Jr. so happy.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame

The only fox announcer I like is Mike Joy. Larry Mac and DW and all them guys are just too jumpy and get too excited. lol I also like Alan Bestwick, Barney Hall, Ken Squier, and Jerry Punch. Pete Banchoff said:
I didn't like Darrell when he raced and I don't care for him as an announcer. He's a know-everything and horses around too much. Just my opinion and he would turn the hall of fame into the hall of shame. Bobby Allison needs to go in ahead of Darrell for sure.

We had a baseball announcer for the Detroit Tigers pass away recently and when someone asked a reporter what made Ernie so great, the reporter said "Silence". He knew just when to talk and when to let the sounds of the game come through the broadcast. With today's announcers on Fox and TBS it's talk, talk, talk. Fill the air with needless chatter. I use the mute button more and more these days. 2 guys I really enjoy are Phil Parsons and Andy Petree (from espn) and I hope someday they can get together and do something together. At the cutaway car, leave Tim Brewer there. I like his explainations of how things work.
