"Good race" is an understatement on this one. Best race of the season so far (not because of the wreck at the end or the fight with Logano and Stewart). Just some flat out good racing all day and all the way around the track. I still may not like the track, but I sure liked the race. This may be indicitative of the Gen-6 capabilities. I hope so. I still can't understand why they allow that track to stay so rough and bumpy. Wonder what the racing would be like if it were smooth? Not complaining, just wondering.

More bumps in that track that on a Georgia red clay road. I watched the Nationwide yesterday and was about to get seasick watching the cars undulate AND I WAS IN THE NAVY!!!

DEFINITION OF A RACING FRIEND,off and on the track

Stock Car Racing History

Thanks, Johnny, not only for being a friend but also for the very nice things you said in your post. Remember when we started talking up the meeting in Augusta and had the entire site believing you and I were mortal enemies and would settlle our dispute in Augusta? When I walked into that auditorium, you could have heard a pin drop. lol. All in good fun.

As for the "almost win" in Savannah, that was long ago and just think. If you had let me win that race then my claim to fame as the driver who never won but had the most second places finishes ever would be ruined. I'm happy I lost to you! I would like to have won a race, for sure, but winning a race doesn't guarantee what you and I have in a friendship. I am so pleased we reconnected.

Dave, what you say is true. Some of my best friends and I have taken different sides in many discussions but remain friends. I even have friends with different political views and these days, that's not easy! lol

When I come across as negative or argumentative, it is, most times, 99% an attempt to have someone express another view both to help me understand some things and to keep the line of conversation going. If we all said "yes, that's right" to everything brought up, how boring that would be. I think the secret, or at least I thought once I knew the secret, is to state your position with respect to the other person no matter how contrary your opinions. I have now realized that some of my posts and responses to posts can be seen as negative to the extreme. I don't like that because I don't like to think of myself as a negative person. I'm really not as bad as some of my posts make me out to be.

I'm not ready to dump any friends. I do believe we all need all the friends we can have. I do believe in the positive.

Again, Johnny, thank you for putting it in words.

NINE IN A ROW FOR JOE

That was a good race yesterday. I enjoyed watching The Candy Man running so close to the outside wall. Reminds me of another great driver.

To whomever I may have offended (not intentionally) with my posts in this Forum, please accept my apology. There will be no futher incidents of such gross inconsideration. This apology is not the result of any comment contained in this Forum, but the result of consideration of a personal e-mail from someone I deeply respect. This is a great site for race fans and I would certainly do NOTHING to bring adverse opinions of reactions to this site. I do apologize for my statements and while I could delete them, I will not, for the comments from others would be out of context.

Thank you,

Tim

Believe me, I meant no insult whatsoever to the Timmy Hill effort. I met the guy when he was running ARCA and immediately liked him. He and I have talked, we chat on FB, and I believe he is a fine young man. I think Frankie Stoddard is also as good as they come. Therein, in my problem with Danica. She doesn't not impress me as a driver in spite of what she did at Daytona. I acknowledge that she is a marketing dream posing in those bikinis which are little more than thongs. Because of what her hindquarters look like when exposed, which is often, and her bosoms also flaunting as much as is legally allowable, she can get a big sponsorship to boost NASCAR ratings. Good for her, good for NASCAR and good for Tony Stewart. But it just bothers me that drivers much more talented than is she are fighting for sponsorship when all than money is wasted on bikini bottoms. Isn't that where Sponge Bob lives? I think so.

I shall make a very strong effort to be more specific in my comments in the future to save the all-knowing PKL time in correcting my inaccuracies. Timmy Hill is, by comparision to Bikini Babe, unsponsored, although he does have the sponsorship mentioned in PKL's post. As for D.W.'s words of wisdom, maybe this week he was reading MY posts and comments.

Oh no! More problems for D.W. "Pretty Baby" starting 40th. Now let's see, the statement from Daytona was she got the pole because ALL three Stewart-Haas cars were fast. Let's see here: Tony 8th, Ryan 20th. Ms. Patrick 40th. Surprise, surprise, as Gomer Pyle would say, Timmy Hill, a rookie in an unsponsored car starts 39th. Not trying to start something here, just pointing out the obvious.
