THANK YOU ALEX WHITT, BOBBY ALEXANDER AND STEPHANIE DeLORENZO

Administrative

I was very priviledged today to attend a screening of the University of South Carolina Media Arts Documentary efforts. There were 17 very entertaining, some thought provoking, some funny, and some sad, presentations by the Media Arts Class of Professor Kissell. I was there at the invitation of RacersReunion Member J. Alex Whitt, who, with Bobby and Stephanie, did a documentary on the Historic Columbia Speedway. There are no words capable of doing justice to that presentation so I can only hope that Alex may post the presentation to the site and everyone will be able to see what afine job those young folks did. As much as it means to us to preserve the history of the sport of stock car racing the way it should be, we can only be very greatful to young folks like these who make the effort to do such fine work.

Thank you, Alex, for what you all did, and please stay active on the site. We need folks like you around here!

IF YOU PENALIZE MORE THAN ONE AT A TIME THATS MORE MONEY RIGHT????

Current NASCAR

That is incredibly interesting in as much as the points usually go with the fines. Just another turn of the screw.

I Apologize....

-RacersReunion® RADIO

Patsy, I didn't see what you wrote in chat during "Motorweek Live", but, believe me, hardly anyone would take offense to anything said here. We all have the habit, especially me, of talking in jest most of the time. We make comments to each other that would make someone unfamiliar with this group of folks think we all hate each other, but we know better. I can usually distinguish when a rude remark is intended as a rude remark and believe me, I get many. So, please hang in with us. Hope you'll be here tonight at 7:00 for The Goat Rodeo.

Buy Your Copy of the RacersReunion SCENE magazine First Edition

General

I have hesitated to comment on this Forum because Jeff allowed me the honor of being named "Senior Editor" of the Scene and allowed me to write several of the articles. However, in my long association with D.W., I have learned that it is ok to compliment yourself. In this instance, it is not myself I am complimenting but the overall magazine Jeff has produced. While there are excellent historical articles in the magazine, not all written by me, there are excellent photographs taken by Ray Lamm and make the $10.00 price of the magazine very appealing.I am looking forward to any involvement Jeff will allow me to have in the Hall of Fame edition. These RacersReunion Scene magazines are truly a way to preserve an interesting perspective of the history of stock car racing by folks who lived it. While there are many finemotorsports writers around today, very few of them actually attended races in the 50s, or were even around in the 50s. Living it and then writing about it makes a difference inmy humble opinion.

Ordera copy today. Thank you for your consideration.

Best Richmond Surprise? Dave Blaney's Son Ryan's 7th Place in 1st Nationwide Race

Current NASCAR

The Father-Son interview after the race was as priceless as I've ever seen done. I hope this kid goes far. He seems to be the kind we need to carry on the good of the sport.

Guess Who Got Interviewed on TV?? Hint: It wasn't the top finishing female driver at Richmond Friday night

Current NASCAR

And I thought Danica's interview was about as intelligent as listening to a certain Washington, D.C. resident trying to talk withOUT his teleprompter.

The King's Cowboy Hats

General

Cody, I have seven "Petty Style" hats. Two are actually Charlie 1Horse and one of those two is actually a Charlie 1 Horse "King" hat. Now, I need you to call Richard and ask him how many "Legend Style" hats he has! Fair is fair, after all.

The King's Cowboy Hats

General

As pictures on my page here will certify, I was wearing the cowboy hats as early as 1964. I'm not saying that Richard wears them because I did but I will say I have some of my really old ones, which include the demin type which is what Richard wore early 70s. I have a picture to prove that as well. I'm not trying to take credit here. Just saying all those folks who want to blast me as being a "Richard Petty Wannabee" should look at the overall picture. After all, Jeff and I both know that The King is a fan of The Legend. Certified. I was even wearing the sunglasses in the late 50s, or, as someone told me awhile back, he couldn't remember when I didn't wear sunglasses. As I have stated publicly many times, I have NO issue with Richard imitating my style. In fact, I am honored!
