hey john - ask them about frank heafner - he built and owned cars driven by ned setzer and bobby issac - i know frank ran cars there - don beam may have driven for him also - his cars were mostly nc6 - thanks .
bobby- i never saw a race at this track either - but i know where it was at - it was in lowell but everyone called it gastonia fairgrounds or spindle city fairgrounds - the fair would come there once a year - i went to the fair but the track was not in operation - what i remember it was mostly gone then - but you could still see where it had been - it operated in the fifties and early sixties from what ive been told - i think nascar ran one gn race there - tiny lund pole - buck baker winner - if i am correct .

does anyone remember or have any photos of the old rutherfordton track - i cant remember it was considered a fairgrounds or not - i never went to this track - but i heard lots about it - i think it was a half mile dirt and may have run as late as the fifties or sixties . oh yeah just about everybody back then pronounced it - rulla-furd .
part of jeff slowing up was due to a bad back - he still has some back problems - ray and jeff go way back - ray drove modifieds untill a head injury in a crash - then was a chassis man for the iroc cars - when jeff first started in busch he drove a outback steakhose car - i think it was a pontiac owned by a guy named hugh cant remember his last name - anyway it was for a few races and evernham was the crewchief - many dont remember this but ray worked for alan kulwicki - they couldnt stand each other - didnt last long - but when he left alan lee morse of ford paid rays salary to work at bill davis racing - bill didnt want him - anyway hendrick got them both - i know ray couldnt turn down the dodge deal - but ever wonder if he hadnt left hendrick - it was all wonder boy then and for a while nascar had a hands off policy on him - but he has won everything there is to win in nascar - has a family now - and security that helps to mellow things out - but a bad back is what really bothers him .

yeah its a shame she cant be a go daddy girl - she does need a pit crew - ol sue patrick turned in another top thirty performance - finished 29th - go go go daddy for the marketing machine - is this really the driver there going to take to cup next year - i hope johanna gets a better crew and puts in some good runs - she was impressive driving that car .
