Hurricane Ike Aid

-RacersReunion® OUTREACH

My friends, I do not usually do what I am about to do here.I am putting out an urgent suggestion to all, please look at the devastation in the Houston, Galveston areas of Texas. Please, if you can afford it, consider making a donation to one of the first responder groups in the area, i.e.; Red Cross, Salvation Army, Convoy of Hope, or some organization as these.I have been watching the computer feeds of KHOU-TV in Houston on channel 361 on Direct TV this weekend.Folks, Ike destroyed that area, from Houston to the coast, and many communities and neighborhoods in between. This looks like Katrina all over again there. The community of Gilchrest Texas, no longer exists. Crystal Beach, Texas, has 80% of their homes destroyed. I fear that when they start searching in western Galveston Island that they will find many fatalities. Please, if you are concerned go to www.khou.com and check it out.May God bless these folks and their families and pray that there will be no fatalities.God Bless you,Pastor Ken

Pet Peeves

Uncategorized

Do not get me started on Pet Peeves in NASCAR. How about the bias of the announcers. How about the PC crowd in NASCAR today. What happened to the true Southern sport of Stock car racing, that was birthed in the south and the moonshine runners who are responsible for the sport to start with. Today's PC crowd that run NASCAR, do not want that talked about. It might offend the goody two shoes that NASCAR caters to today. Racin' is what it is! It is not a lets go to the high dollar suites and ride to the race in our private plane. It is not caviar and wine and cheese, in the suites. It is Coke and hotdogs and chips, sitting in the stands, sweaty and tire bits and mud scattered around and on you.I will get off of my soap box after this last one, but trust me; I have many more not mentioned here. The last one is the crazy format that NASCAR uses today in the races. What happened to them just racing and who had the most points at the end of the season won the cup. What happened to the old NASCAR? The cars were not rolling billboards with smiley over paid rude drivers.Pastor Ken

Prayers for family in Maryland

-RacersReunion® OUTREACH

I am asking for your prayers for a family in Maryland this day. I do not know the family or the young man involved. I do however know a close friend of the family. He is a friend of mine at work. His wife called him yesterday morning and told him that the young man of their friends in Maryland was just killed in Afghanistan in combat, yesterday morning.I understand that this was Christian man, who had just a few weeks ago sent email to his parents asking for prayer, because things had really escalated in his region of combat there.I do not know the details, other than the mans name. Please keep this family in prayer at this time. We may not know the names, but God knows who they are and who we are praying for.Pastor Ken

A Day of Rememberance Sept. 11

-RacersReunion® OUTREACH

I agree totally, my friend. Lest we never forget our fallen heroes and fellow Americans who perished by this callus act of terror. I have had a very hard week this past week with the anniversary of 9/11. Like you said it dosen't matter about race, color, creed, or religious beliefs. These were human beings, Americans, Europeans, Asians, Africans and other nationalities in the towers. They were all humans,I cannot imagine those who are not concerned and seem to have forgotten 9/11. There are those who think this was a USA backed conspiracy as well. I say that they are sick and out of touch with reality.Let's Roll,Pastor Ken

A Day of Rememberance Sept. 11

-RacersReunion® OUTREACH

Folks,This is not racing related, but then again it is as we are ALL Americans. Please take the time to say a prayer for those lives lost and victims and families of lost loved ones, of 9/11.It has been 7 years ago now and, while a few in our country seem to have forgotten what happened on that morning. I feel that I speak for the masses here in saying that, I have not forgotten, nor will I ever forget that day, 7 years ago.I remember exactly what I was doing and did the day that our freedom was attacked, by cowards on a mission to destroy us and our American beliefs, all in the name of Mohammed. This day changed me forever. My daughter lost family members on her mom's side. I had a good friend (almost like a sister) to lose her brother in law, the day the towers came down.I can remember spending that evening in a dark sanctuary of my old church, filled to the brim with fellow believers, in prayer as well as reading 2 Chron. 7:14.[14] IF MY PEOPLE, who are called by MY NAME, will HUMBLE themselves and PRAY and SEEK MY FACE and TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, THEN WILL I HEAR from heaven and will FORGIVE their sin and will HEAL THEIR LAND.I am sitting here now trying to type this and keep this short, but the feelings are arising and I am wanting to go on and on about this. I had better stop now, while I can still see the monitor through the blurriness of the tears.Pastor Ken SharpeRacers Reunion Outreach (Chaplain)Flowing River Fellowship (Pastor)Level Cross, NC

If you would like to be a part of Racers Reunion Outreach

-RacersReunion® OUTREACH

Folks,If you wish to be a part of the Racers Reunion Outreach. Please sign up on the Racers Reunion Outreach, club page. I am going to be using this club page to correspond and email those who wish to be a part of this great Outreach. This Outreach is being created to eventually be able to aid and assist those who made racing what it is. These are the fore runners to the success of NASCAR. These are the folks who raced on the shoestring budgets, without insurance, high dollar backing, or high dollar wins. These folks mostly invested all that they made in a race back into their racecars. There are many of these folks, who are in need of assistance today. The Outreach wants to be able to aid these folks in any way that we can.We need your input and assistance, if you would like to be a part of the History of NASCAR, sign on and let these folk know that you care.Pastor Ken
