Either some flowers or the track - again. And it seems as though the bulldozer is just waiting to be started up, just to tear the track up...Note the roadway above the 'dozer. Thats coming off the 'bowl' used for much of the races.
Where is this track?
Jeff, This is the remains of Marlboro Motor Raceway in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. It sat just off Rt. 301 at Rte. 4. It was about 4-5 years old when I first went there in 1957. I think it closed in 1969. It was known nationally because it had a long counter clockwise road course around it that the SCCA ran at frequently.
Thanks Bill. After I made my post, I saw some of the other pics and figured it out. Looks like it was an awesome facility in its day.
