For some reason I thought him and tommy houston moved up the same year but I was wrong. That memory thing again.Roy chatham won a ton of races in hobby. Mccurry and blaine hall moved up and were pretty good.Roy Trantham ran very little at asheville that year. Chevrolet had won everthing for a long time. The promoter offered a $1000 bonus for a ford victory which was a lot of money then and roy came in and won the race from the back of the field. The last of the season which was on a tuesday night in sept. was one i will never forget.Jack and bosco was mixing it up pretty hard and they wrecked in the fourth turn. Jack was out of his car before it quit rolling and was back at Boscos window with his foot in the window kicking himBosco still had his harness on and could not get out. they finally got jack away and bosco got loose and went out the passenger window and across the hood and here they go again. great battle.I remember roy coming around and looking at them and smirking thinking he had that one in the bag. and he did. I was the first one out of the stands down there at the fence when they first wrecked.Tom Ingram who was jacks brother was walking around with his fists clenched just looking for anybody to fight.Great night in the history on NEW ASHEVILLE SPEEDWAY The best little short track ever.

what a great bunch of drivers you talked about. I loved it when they ran at Augusta.
