Bobby Allison driving a modified 1961 Chevrolet won the 200 lap Late Model Modified-Sportsman race at the Asheville-Weaverville Speedway on June 28th, 1964. The Alabama Gang of Bobby Allison, Donnie Allison, and Red Farmer finished the 200 lap grind bumper-to-bumper, and 6 laps ahead of the 4th place finisher. Roy Trantham was the highest finishing Sportsman driver in the race at the 1/2 paved speedway.
Thank you Jack, I really like that one. Roy and Tom had those 56 fords pretty good to be running against the mods.
Just looking at the names in the rest of the field. What would you give to see that much talent at one track these days?
