Janice, I had totally forgotten that Jimmy Hensley drove in the Busch Series in 1987-88 for his old Late Model Sportsman rival, Sam Ard. Some of the greatest racing footage ever shot (in my humble opinion) was at Hickory in 1972 when Sam in #00 and Jimmy in #63 ran side by side for lap after lap after lap. That footage was used in the 1973 20th Century Fox Movie Last American Hero. Cool , also, to see the Charlie Luck #45 ride. Thanks for posting these great shots.

You're welcome, Dave! I've had these photos for quite a while. When I inquired about whose photos they were Sam replied, "They are MY pictures...belong to ME". LOL. Bless his heart, I felt that I should share them.

Janice,I shot the photos for Advance Auto Parts for the post card and poster used that year. I was still living in Roanoke, home town for Advance, at that time and did some freelance stuff for them. Knowing Sam and Jimmy for some time, they were both so fun and interesting to work with. Those were some great years around that time for short track late model sportsman racing.
