41st Mountain Moonshine Festival
Dustin and I got home at about 2:00 AM this morning from Dawsonville. Jim Seay accompanied us in the booth this trip. Robbie Solesbee even made a surprise visit on Saturday. We have some fantastic interviews to share from the festival including Raymond Parks, David Sosebee, Dan Elliott, Buddy Baker, Gordon Pirkle, Bobby Bates, Jack Anderson, Ray Fox, Charlie Glotzbach, Rex White, and many others. Many claim Dawsonville, Ga as the birthplace of stock car racing. There is certainly a rich history associated with early moonshiners and their migration to stock car racing. This festival is HUGE!! Some reports say that as many as 150,000 people attended. The Georgia Auto Racing Hall of Fame and Museum is most impressive and should be on your list of places to see....and don't forget the Dawsonville Pool Room. Gordon Pirkle , his family members, and the group KARE For Kids organized and managed this very impressive event.Put this event on your calender for next year...and stay tuned for our interviews and highlights video. We hope you enjoy the interviews as much as we enjoyed obtaining them for you.Jeff
