Interesting how things have evolved. It was Harry Ranier's team vs. Petty Enterprises. Then Ranier became Ranier-Lundy. Then it became Robert Yates Racing. Then Petty Enterprises became Richard Petty Motorsports. Then Robert Yates Racing became just Yates Racing with transition to Doug. Then RPM acquired Yates Racing. Only took about 30 years.

YES,THAT IS INTERESTING...........BY THE WAY ,HOW DID YOU LIKE MY PICS OF RP.S CAR AT CARAWAY.WE WERE AT THE FAN CLUB CONVENTION AND THAT NITE THE KING RAN THAT CAR.

Seems like I've read somewhere that one or more LeMans may have been sold to Raymond Beadle's Blue Max team after Allison used it in 81 and Cale won with it later. Maybe for Tim Richmond to run with the 27 Old Mil colors? Not sure - but seems like I've seen that somewhere.
