Robbie, that's a great try and you are close but it's not Mantz and McGriff but it is the Pan-American road race.

Now Jimmy, how'd you know that? Congratulations, I thought this would be much harder than that, unless, you've read the book "Driving with the Devil" which shows a great shot of Raymond and Byron next to the car. Nicely done Jimmy.

their untimely end to the race shows what driving past your ability to stay alert gets you. the good part is both got out of there ok and continued on in the sport.

Jim, I must confess it was not any prior knowledge! No, have not seen the book you speak of but oh the power of the internet. Did a search under Carrera Pan-American. Hit a web sit with lots of old pictures and results. They did not have this picture, but had all car numbers listed with drivers and finish position/DNF and car make. I love trivia stuff about racing of ANY kind. Thanks for the quiz.

Jimmy, I enjoy the trivia games too, have been posting trivia on localracechat.com for a couple years and it always gets people talking and telling stories, lot's of fun. I post one on here from time to time but this one was very difficult, again, nice job.
