A tribute to Shril Greer from an old Friend,me

A unique man in his own way. I would regularly visit Shril at his shop and talk nothing but motors. We had such vast differences in our thoughts on racing that it was funny. He passed away last March and was thinking of him again today. The car Chained Lightening was to me a masterpiece but also many more saw this as a work of art, what he did to the truck was amazing. Rest in peace my friend

Ifinally was lucky enough to meet Mr.Shirl Greer at Henderson N.C. at the hall of fame Reunion.through magazines and pictures he was a favorite of many of my friends and me when we saw him at Rockingham and Darlington dragstrips. we saw him in the pits but as you know he did it all and there was little time to chat then. I spent some time at Henderson and bought a shirt from him he autographed. One of my top ten drag racers of all time !!! A class act !
