Great photo, Ernie Shaw was one of the best friends Nascar ever had. He showed me a letter once that Bill France wrote him about the first DEGA race and I remember Big Bill wrote that if Ernie ever needed anything all he had to do was ask. Sadly he passed away a few years ago and this world is a little bit more lonely because of it. Thanks a lot for the photo, I think this one and one that I have with him and Bobby Allison are the only ones of Ernie on this web-site.

ERNIE WAS NICE MAN AND ALSO MY 1ST COUSIN. HE GREW UP STRUGGLING LIKE I DID IN PAST WITHOUT MONIES TO DO WHAT HE LOVED ,RACING. THE LAST I SAW HIM WAS 1971 IN N.C. I LIVED WITH HIS DAD ,ERNEST SR. HE WAS A LIKED MAN
