I've asked others but without ever getting a satisfactory answer. Anyone know why Buddy ran #11 as a Petty driver? Lee, Maurice, Richard, Paschal, Tiny, Buck, Pete, etc. all drove cars in the 40 series. But I've never understood why 11 was chosen. Was decision made by Petty Enterprises? Chrysler?

Ray this is a great photo. It is hard to find pictures of the first STP paint scheme. Richard kept inching up on the red in '72, there was more blue added by the end of the year. The Baker car didn't have blue numbers very long either. Thanks, this brings back great memories.
