Interesting story about this photo. Cale and I became friendly when I was at Daytona in 1966 with Harry Hyde. One day we weresitting on the pit walland he commented that he led every race he was in the previous year. I said I didn't think he led a lap in the Southern 500 before he tangled with Sam McQuagg and went out of the park. He replied, "No, I didn't lead a lap, but look at the film and the photos of that wreck. Sam and I were fighting for the lead, and went I went over the wall, I was in front."
