Here is Ralph Harpe with his 48 Jr, Slim Rominger Special. Slim's cars were fast, and Ralph could drive like the pros.
Ralph competed and won in the NASCAR Amateur division in the early to mid 50's at Peace Haven Speedway, Bowman Gray Stadium, North Wilkesboro Speedway, Occoneechee Speedway, Greensboro Fairgrounds Speedway, and others close by to Winston-Salem, NC.

Thanks for your comments, Billy. I totally agree. Those were the days, when they built their cars in the yard and drove it to the track. I love the rural look to the photo with the corn field between the houses.

Hi Ronald, Hilton Hill had this in his collection. Hilton and Ralph are old friends from those times. I saw Hilton at Bowman Gray last night and we talked about Ralph for a while. Next time you see Ralph, get him to dig out his photo collection!
